3 good things to come...

hello friends! just a quick post to check in with you and thank you for reading s-oh-s-ew...i'm going to hit the 200th post mark this week and i'm really excited about it...it feels like a good time to be reflecting on what i've done and what i want to do next..it's been so much fun so far :) so here's a trio of s-oh-s-ew events that'll be coming your way  this week :

* i'll be posting a succession of photos from my first shoot , hope you enjoy them :)

* a new drop - d article will be out over the next couple days and it's all about love and jumpers..

* couture show coverage ! paris has some expensive taste this week and i'll be posting the pick of the best ..

i have a new favourite website and it's particularly delicious...the coveted is a new blog which takes a peek inside the wardrobes of the achingly fashionable...set up by Erin Kleinberg and Stephanie Mark, vibrant photographs document every closet as shoe, jewelery, dresses are all laid bare...it's a naughty nosy look at some very covetable collections, i love it ! check it out here  to have a look at the likes of joanna hillman (harpers bazaar) , mona sharf ( helmut lang and theory0 and keith pollock ( elle ) and the rest...

mad men...

along with the rest of civilisation, i've become obsessed with mad men...even with the volume turned down, the show's costume and attention to detail with the sets are forces to be reckoned with and so much fun to watch...it's been great to see how the show has had it's effects on the fashion industry...busty girls in full skirts were in full force in louis vuitton this season and last year the 'mad men' craze kept everyone embracing a more sophisticated take on fashion...that whole era makes me long for a kind of romance and ettiquette that we seem to have grown out of (or away from) today (minus the sexism , of course) especially in regards to the clothing...in light of all this mad men-ery , my friend aisling linked me to this app on facebook which allows you to 'mad men' yourself! so much fun and an excellent escape from the tuesday slump..try it yourself here ....here's my modified self (complete with cigerett holder; doesn't the show really make you want a smoke ?! )

golden globe picks...

finally award season 2011 kicked off with the golden globes in l.a. last night....much as i tried to stay awake to watch the live red carpet coverage i was knakered so caught up with all the frock news today...so, verdict time ! greens, pinks, sequins and backless numbers were among the trends and everybody went floor length...as much as everyone is giving out about it, i absolutely loved january jones in versace (she's the face of their new campaign too)...it was daring, different and bold and she looked incredible...emma stone gets my second pick of the night in calvin klein; the fresh clean lines are a perfect example of the silhouettes we've been seeing at jill sander this season and can expect to see more of  for spring...

but not everyone was so lucky, there's always one ! or several in the case of last night...i was so disappointed with natalie portman's dress, especially when she's been dressed impeccably lately..the flowers, shape, colour - all wrong...ditto for heidi klum - how does she manage to get it so wrong ?! 

alas, onwards and upwards! the baftas, oscars and grammys are yet to come...stay tuned

today was my first photo shoot! i styled my little sister/model in all kinds of everything... i'm working on building up a portfolio so this is a good step forward...can't wait to post the final shots but in the meantime here's a peek at the day...

here's a peek inside the considerings of my psyche this week...and , yes, that is leighton meister on a pony! she's the new face of missoni and i love the campaign.. it's bright, it's cheery and it's astonishingly refreshing to see a campaign feature a smiling model !

Victoria has had her fair share of jibes over the years but she's finally won the respect of the fashion crowd with her turn as designer and a much coveted vogue uk cover...she looks beautiful in photographs by alasdair mclellan and blue cashmere.. i'm a posh fan and this interview shows her in a new light - with a sense of humor and  surprisingly down-to-earth nature...

fashion weeks and awards seasons are approaching fast and with them will come more sartorial conversation material than you can shake a stick at...in the meantime, leigh lezark, here on the streets of  new york, (image courtesy of models off duty) will keep us at bay until runway, fashion week and red carpet pictures start flooding in..
