every season i find some looks really stand out and resonate...they become the inspirations behind the outfits you want to channel , the girl you imagine yourself to be , what she feels, what mood she exudes when she enters a room..this year miu miu created that look; the make-up, hair, the clothes...referencing oriental patterns and kimono shapes, 40's lengths and animal prints but with a modern twist on the familiar- the sequin on a bootie; the provacitive slit and cut on a seam; the deep coloured lip punctuated with the clean lines war-time pinned hair ...

i've been working on recreating the look from the high-street...here are my finds.
collars are everywhere at the moment, river island in particular are great for collared dresses and long shirts..i wanted something with an animal pattern to recreate one of the first looks (above) and found this great dress in zara for €29.99..it's hummingbird print , shape , jeweled colours and cut out back make it a great interpretation of muccia's design...
these suede chunky-heeled platforms have the same statement feel as the heels we say at miu miu and cost just €20 @ pennys and they come in black too..
i searched long and hard for a great deep lipstick that didn't verge on the gothic style of purple and found this at mac...i mixed it with mac ruby woo lipstick for a slightly pinkier undertone..
and voila ! a highstreet solution to a highend inspiration..
